I am planning an all day caching event at Spring Lake Park in Dakota County near Hastings. It will be called "Kachetober fest". I will show up early and try to grab a shelter because I don't feel like springing for $100.00 to reserve one. We will at least be able to get a couple of picnic tables and there are plent of grills out there.
I am thinking temps can be hidden and reported before 10:30 A.M. the day of the event, at which time hunting will begin. Temps can be both micros AND regular caches,as well as multis if people want to set them up.
There are also several permanent caches in the area.
In response to Silent Bob's question as to his attendance, please see the poll above.

That's what I thought... Though I had asked if the stargazing event would be better after daylight savings time kicked in (ie it's dark out earlier). |

Stargazing would be better at night anyway... at least that's the way I think it works. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

OOPS! My bad. Should pay better attention! I just looked at the stickys under events. Although the intention is to be done with the caching thing before dark, possibly even before supper. _________________ I am amazed by how many people harp on the need to speak and write English in this country while exhibiting a fundamental lack of skills in the areas of spelling and sentence composition. Yea I know you don't star gaze in the daytime. But they are sort of in opposite directions. And if kids are involved in a late evening event. I'm not sure they would be awake if they played in the park all day.
But I guess you could hold both on the same day. Your call. _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

I voted for a Bob free zone as I assumed that meant I didn't have to pay for any food. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

I'd come, but I'm moving that weekend.
Thanks,

P.S. I voted anti-Bob just for fun. |

sui generis and I will be there early in the morning tomorrow setting stuff up and getting some temp caches out into the wild. There are already several permanent caches in the area that are fantastic. Be sure to come with your GPS loaded.
Weather looks like it will be cloudy and chilly. Enjoy!
See you all tomorrow. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

I'm going to try and show up early myself. On my last venture out there I stumbled across an interesting area I thought I might try a micro hide at, if anything else to show it off (course SB and Sui probably already know it).
See ya there! |

Just an open discussion, not that it matters much, but aren't there enough micros in the woods already? I think that we have enough out there. Spring Lake Park Reserve is a HUGE park and is certainly deserving of more than just a micro. At least a "small" container maybe? _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

Does that mean even in a park that is already chock full of other caches? _________________ Sad state of affairs. |
