Hehe...I was considering doing that myself, but I couldn't live with a phony log. In my own mind, I want the real thing. I already deleted the log on GC.com. I have to find someone on the lake with a LARGE pontoon....be easier than a rowboat....Very Happy

rick, what are you using to make that. I see the red cross, but then to the left and slightly down is a white cross. I assume the white cross is part of the pic, the red was put on top. I'd assume the white cross is the actual spot.

I solved part of this mystery. On the raw USGS photos at convergence points (perfect quints), there are two white crosses. One is dotted, and the other is solid. When my script lays down the red cross, it lays it down exactly on top of the solid white cross. So you don't see the USGS-placed solid white cross anymore, just my red cross.I don't know what the dotted white cross means, but I suspect its a marking for a now-out-of-vogue ellipsoid.

Thanks Moe....it was a bit chilly. The lcd on the unit was turning the numbers very slowly making for a longer time out there. At least this one won't be on my mind any more.... Laughing

brings up a good question, I wonder how many palindromes and quints are located on lakes... Might as well show off when you're a Minnesotan. Good show WS!

Well thanks to Wayfarin, I was inspired to also find a set of Palindrome Coordinates on a Lake.

Mine got me to Beaver Lake, just about a mile from my house (man was I lucky, but still took long enough to find a set).
