I looked that up the other day, looking for a really nice quintuplet for a locationless.. Thought it's right on their lawn.. perhaps if I go talk to the owner though.

After the crops are harvested, you could park and dash to get this quint near Waverly/Montrose. This is in team-deadhead country so there are lots of caches nearby as well.

I copied up all of my MN "perfect quints" photos and a map. You can find them here:

Now, if only we could get an Event to center on one. That would be pretty cool. Do what the Wisconsinites do... Setup an area to find where your coords zero out and put flags down (and hope that little kids don't decide to take them out of the ground and move them around).

Grabbed this today along with a couple other "key" locationless caches. Been meaning to do this since late last summer. About time I accomplished it. Had great fun today.

rick, what are you using to make that. I see the red cross, but then to the left and slightly down is a white cross. I assume the white cross is part of the pic, the red was put on top. I'd assume the white cross is the actual spot.

Anyway, someone go get

The USGS photos (the 1m/pixel monochrome low res aerials for the outstate quints) have the white cross on them. Those photos are pretty old, and I think they used a different ellipsoid when they marked them.

The red cross is the one I put on them, and is based on what they claimed the scale and the center of the photo was in WGS84. The claimed scale doesn't matter in this case, snce I'm only marking the center of the photo on these, anyway. My marks agree with several other sources, including terraserver.net and terraserver.com (not related).

Still, we could all be wrong if the USGS lied to us about the lat/lon of the center of the photo in the first place.

Anyhow, I use my "geo-map" tool to make all of the maps and photos you have ever seen from me. It knows how to get and mark maps and photos from a bunch of different sources, including some really high res aerials (non-USGS) for the metro area.

To make the quints, I first created a GPX file with all the coords I wanted photos of. Then, I used my gpx-photos tools to process that file. gpx-photos is a simple script that calls geo-map for each waypoint in a GPX file.

I also have aerial photos of every cache in MN, which I got by using gpx-photos on 4 gpx files tht I got by doing Pocket Queries.

I think you missed it! Didn't you want 45 05.054? Not 45 05.045.
