I'm sure many of you are trying to get to GC.com and cannot get there. I have found out that it appears that the local Internet Provider is down right now. There isn't anything GC.com can do until they get things back up. I also noticed that magellangps.com is also down, so they may have the same provider or they route through them or something.
I just thought I would pass on what I know at this time. Hopefully someone will feed the hamsters and the machines will start running again. _________________ mtn-man... (formerly) Keeping an eye on the King! |

I have uploaded 878 metro area cache descriptions in HTML form to a private website. Assuming the worst (gc.com doesn't come back in time for the long w/e), I am ready to provide this URL as a temporary resource.
But I expect that it won't be needed. |

Perhaps it wouldn't be needed now but I wouldn't mind seeing the MNGCA take it upon themselves to host cache pages that the users *want* to be posted.
I would be more than happy to relist my caches here for use in a situation just as this (especially if it is a long-term issue or even permanent).
I believe this discussion came up once before off-site but I could be imagining things in my GC.com deprived state _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

If geocaching.com went away or got a lot more flakey the MnGCA would consider this. But as it stands that's not our gig.
Maybe rr will do it but not under the MnGCA banner at this point. |

Looks like Geocaching is down this evening. I have been trying for about an hour with no results. This really stinks 'cause I was missing something when I went Geocaching today. |

Perhaps the name of the site should be changed from geocaching.com to geocrashing.com? _________________ I am amazed by how many people harp on the need to speak and write English in this country while exhibiting a fundamental lack of skills in the areas of spelling and sentence composition. Would this be irony, hypocrisy, or both? |

Nah, geocaching.jeep.com might solve the problem. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |
