Was going to put this up in Off-Topic or Media, but then I realized that it will become a hot discussion point in regards to what effect it will have on the public perception of geocaching.
Here's the text from an email I recieved today (he sent it to me in my mngca.org webmaster role I think):

Dear Chad,
I just ran across your site, and I think there's a link you might be
interested in putting up. Would you be interested in reciprocating links
with www.GPSTheMovie.com? This is the website for the new feature-length
movie GPS. Here's the synapsis of the movie:
"A group of college friends reunite in the Northwest wilderness on a GPS
scavenger hunt in search of hidden money, only to discover photographs of a
woman tied up and masked, and a new set of GPS coordinates deeper into the
forest. Are the photos real or just part of the game?"
I think this could bring a lot of interest to Geocaching. I've never
personally tried it, but the sport looks like it would be fun even to the
average Joe. That's one of the reasons I'm so excited about both of these
websites.
If you would like to exchange links, you can add your link to our site by
clicking on the link below:

Thank you in advance for exchanging links!
Take care,
Gideon Oakes

While it might be a fun cross between Blair Witch and Geocaching, I can only shudder what a thriller will do to geocaching's image. Is this mainstreaming of the sport?!? |

Sounds like 8mm with a geocaching twist thrown in--there was a thread on the gc.com forums a couple years ago about another geocaching movie, and that one sounded lame, too. _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |
