Suggestion:
Postpone all new cache submittals until mtn-man is able to continue his voluntary position at geocaching.com
I think he's very dedicated in the work he does, and will try to continue. He shouldn't have us to worry about. Let him take care of his wife, and get their life back to normal.
If you have a cache pending approval, edit it and un-check the line:
Yes, this cache is currently active. |

| I'm wishing them well as well. And I'd agree with KB on holding off new submittals for a while until things are better with them. |

As far as I am aware the approver network was designed to allow for others to approve caches in case of emergency or vacation. I don't see why now would be any different. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

| while i recognize that admins become knowledgable about the issues of the state they're assigned, i would certainly like to think gc.com is prepared to have others take over when necessary. (it sounds like it, according to bob.) i wouldn't expect a volunteer to keep up with the workload right now, but i'd like to think we wouldn't have to suspend our activity completely. i have a couple of new hides i'm working on, but they won't be ready for a while yet, so i'm not too concerned. |

He keeps up for the most part...usually only falls behind only when he can't get online for a weird reason...like outta town and bad connections...
or his basement got flooded...etc...
I think its a good "for the sole" kinda thing. |

I want to express my sincere thanks to everyone in Minnesota.
You folks are great.
Kitch, thanks for opening this topic. KB, the cache page is very cool. To all who have expressed your concerns for my wife, it is most appreciated. I feel honored at the outpouring of friendship and well wishes to Athena. The notes from the geocaching community mean so much.
Please do not stop submitting caches. If I don't get them then somebody else will help out. I tried not to fall too far behind this weekend. I have cut out a couple of states I share and have a some help there. Minnesota is special though, because there are so many nuances to areas within the state. I am working to keep up with caches here. The worst is behind us at this point I hope. She was really sore yesterday but feels a little better today. The day after is always the worst day. We did get a confirmation today that the car was totalled. After seeing it I am not suprised. The amazing thing is that she limped away with only a broken kneecap, a fractured tibia (not broken) and lots of bruises. If it weren't for airbags I would probably be at the hospital with her instead of at home.
Keep the submissions coming in and again... thanks.

Glad to hear the air bags worked and things are not worse. Behind every good MTN-MAN, there's an excellent woman, Mrs. MN-MAN. Heal well and quickly. _________________ Save the earth.

There are certainly worse cachers out there than Boreas. Way to keep the eye's open. I'd have missed his dilemma if not for your post.
I've grown weary of the forum at the big site.
P.S. thanks for the "letter", bud. _________________ "You cannot reason a person out of a position they did not reason themselves into" |

Good to hear she's feeling a little bit better. Focus on her. We all understand here if things get a little slowed down. You just do what you can and eventually we willl be running smoothly again.
