I got it, and since I didn't respond, I got one from Jeremy.
I'd do it for 25 travel bug tags.
{edit} The best part: Hotmail dropped Jeremy's e-mail in my bulk mail box. {/edit} |

I didn't get it either - must be based on your home coords or something.
I'm a little dissapointed that they didn't contact the MnGCA via a boardmember. . .we might have pitched in. . . |

It's not exactly as if it is well known that the MNGCA exists. Look how many active people we have on the MNGCA forums/events and look how many are out in the state...
geocaching.com is the main site and it's not exactly as if they list geocaching organizations in an easily located area (this is both good and bad). |

You can't tell me that the green frog doesn't know we exists...
We have notified them that we are a organization that wants to have some of the Jeep TB's.
But maybe Playtime doens't know we do....but you gotta admit...left is not knowing the right on this one....
also who owns playtime sounds a little like they are abusing the email policy. |

Adam made an account here before the e-mails were sent out:
http://www.mngca.org/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=211
I'd say he knows about the MNGCA.
But, I think it's best that the MNGCA isn't part of it.
If PlayTime was a non-profit, or as a for-profit they were interested in compensating us properly, I think the situation would be different.
If a few individuals want to volunteer their time and help them out, I think that's great, but I don't think MNGCA resources should be volunteered to a for-profit company without proper compensation.

I think this is a great opportunity to share some insights on geocaching with a willing group. Yep, $50 for the day isn't going to make anyone rich, but these corporate event companies are not making millions. My wife's former event company was hit hard after 9/11 and the company went from 15 full-time employees to 3. The first thing corporations cut is the entertainment budget when times are tight. To think Playtime Inc. is making a ton of money on this day long event is a stretch. They have a unique concept that might turn enough profit to cover basic expenses, but I doubt anyone with Playtime lives on Lake Washington next to Bill Gates and Jeremy Irish,
When I talk to Adam, he said he was waiting for approval to post to the message board. He's aware of the group, but I never got the feeling he was wanting anything from MNGCA. |

Kitch - Excellent work.
Joelcam - I agree with you. As I mentioned above - I think it's great if a few individuals are willing to participate and help out. I also think Adam (and anyone, really) should feel free to post in the forums.

I thought they had their own "team building" outfit. I was actually surprised that Playtime was "recognized" by Jod and his minions. |
