Out of the 7 TBs that I have released into the wild 6 are dead. 1 is basically dead but the person who has it has at least responded to an email.
While a very small sample 85% of my bugs are gone. It doesn't seem unlikely that we would lose several in the course of the game. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

Part of the issue that I see- Is that the "lakers" could easy make a really cool keychain Vs. A nut that has a "klunky" metal tag on it. |

I don't know but maybe part of the problem is that individuals that are not real familiar with the game pick one up from the cache and then don't really know what to do with it.
Maybe they are just to lazy to try and figure out how to play the game when they get to the web site. So they don't log it out or return it to another cache. I know that I have at least found one Laker in a cache that was not logged into the cache to begin with. _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

The Cache-u-nuts are really neat... they are not just nuts with a tag attached. I found some of them when I was out in Wyoming last year. Most are welded and shaped and painted into people and animals and all sorts of little doo-dads. Go check out the page with the pictures.
Granted he does enlist a nut themed Travel Bug or two that passes through Utah (as Kitch well knows), but for the most part, these are little handmade sculptures.
I think there IS a high disappearance rate with the Utah nuts, but he just keeps making and releasing more (ahhhhh the wonders of retirement).
Maybe we should pass the hat and smile sweetly at RJ & TB to get more Lakers made up for the 4th or 5th round, eh? |

BTW, I resurrected the "Towers of Foo" cache in Faribault after the event there on Saturday. "Big Sandy" was in the cache, but I didn't know the cache was archived because the owner thought it had gone missing (and with it the laker).
Since I haven't been playing the game recently, I didn't take it, so it's still sitting in that archived cache (which is there, in case someone wants to rescue the laker). |

Alright, I think I got everything in order regarding missing Lakers and will contact everyone who has had a Laker longer than a month tonight. Hopefully 80-90% of those will get them back into play in the next few days-weeks.
Are there any mistakes in my lists above? I'm really back this time and want to make the game fun for Round 3. |

I just retrieved Rush lake yesterday in Sydney's Middle Jefferson Cache
and have not logged it yet. I will do so soon.

Cache owner reports that the final stage of the cache Island was in was stolen and that the Laker is gone. I've removed it from play. |

Excellent news - thanks!
I've deleted the LakerAdmin grab so the data should be correct now. |
