Five of these six caches are placed in violation of the geocaching.com guidelines. They are on private property and there is no mention of permission from the property owners to place these caches on the cache pages. The sixth cache is essentially inaccessible without crossing private property.
I'm just posting this so cachers who are uncomfortable caching on private property are aware of the situation.

I'd love to do this as a group.....I wasn't sure if they were all winter friendly but if you have a large group, someone is going uncover it Smile

Just because it isn't stated on the cache page, doesn't mean permission hasn't been granted. I looked at one of the logs and didn't see your name. Did you run into "No Trespassing" signs? I am not familiar with the area so do not know how the companies that own the land feel about others hiking around.

Here is the guideline that is violated by the caches in question, taken directly from the geocaching.com website:

"By submitting a cache listing, you assure us that you have adequate permission to hide your cache in the selected location. If you have permission to place a cache on private property, indicate this on the cache listing for the benefit of the reviewer and those seeking the cache."

Please notice that I didn't say that permission hadn't been granted. I only said that the cache pages didn't state that it had been granted. My name is not on the logs because I don't seek caches that violate the guidelines.

I've done all but one of them so I can tell you that all of them that I've done are winter-friendly so I assume the last one is too.

I would not worry about private property issues here.
As per Minnesota law. This is not agricultural so to prohibit trespass
it must be posted. Since not posted and not charged a fee then property owner is not liable for injury. Allowed trespass can be assumed until
told to leave. This is Minnesota law.

Thanks for this post. This is good information to know. It confirms what I assumed, that cachers do not break the law by seeking caches on private property. But that doesn't change the fact that these caches violate the geocaching guidelines.

I didn't see any attributes, but I hope these caches are winter friendly! I see a lot of winter out my window. Smile
