I try to keep my profile photos consistent across sites. But when I uploaded my current profile photo to Google+, I was asked:

"Are you sure people will recognize you in this photo? It doesn't seem to have a face in it."

On the opposite side of things, once I posted a hand-drawn cartoon (from Hark! A Vagrant) on Facebook, and it zoomed in on two faces and asked if I wanted to tag Admiral Horatio Nelson and Sir Thomas Hardy.

Personally, I find the whole facial recognition thing a little creepy. FacialNetwork is coming out with an app for google glass called NameTag. This will allow anyone wearing google glasses to walk around, look at people, and have the profile information for that person pop up on their display. Now perfect strangers will know your name, age, relationship status, friends, likes and dislikes etc. simply by looking at you as you pass them on the street. Welcome to the new level of creepy stalking.

One more reason to stay away from social media sites.

Would the reviewers approve that?
