If anyone is planning to visit State Parks to seek their geocaches this fall, it would be wise to check the DNR website for park closures for deer hunts before heading out. In the past, some parks were completely closed and some were only partially closed. The dates varied widely.

In the fall of 2012, the State Parks did have an person who posted notes or disabled caches page when there were closures for deer hunts. That person no longer works for the DNR, so I do not anticipate those notices will be posted this year.

And on a related note, there are controlled deer hunts taking place in many county parks starting this weekend. Be sure you are a responsible cacher and pay attention to closures.

Thanks.
