Arctic or RJ, what happened at GCHX3J "Bug Hotel", I saw it was archived due to an incident, can you share?
I was there just a few days before Arcticabn, and I have to admit: I was wondering if someone was living back there. There was an ice-cream truck or trailer or something back there with an open door, and the area looked lived in...I did my best to keep quiet because it "felt" remote even though it's right by the trail. I was by myself, and luckily didn't see anyone, since I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm MUCH smaller and less imposing than Arcticabn. But I thought it was a great cache and figured there HAD to be a story around how RJ found the Bug! Sad to see it go, but definitely better safe than sorry...whew, I feel really lucky now!

| Suffice it to say that the situation turned very dangerous and placed me in a potential life threatening situation. Your reading of the area is correct in my opinion. And the individual that I ran into did not take kindly to my invading his home. Unfortunately the police didn't find him. Fortunately, it didn't ruin the rest of my caching day. Still ended up with 31 finds for the day (and one DNF here). |
