I just got a letter from the Mississippi River Fund asking for a donation, but it also made me aware that a 72-mile corridor of the river was recently designated as a National Park, running through the Twin Cities north to Dayton/Ramsey and south of Hastings. What I got doesn't say how wide this corridor is, though, but it does say I'm a local resident of the Park, and I live in the West 7th neighborhood of St. Paul. But, since this corridor is now a National Park, what effect will that have on caching in the Metro area, since caches are supposed to be banned in National Parks? Has anyone been contacted by the NPS about their caches in this new National Park? _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |

Only 35 acres are owned by the Park Service.

On Nov. 18, 1988, Public law 100-696 established the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (MNRRA) as a unit of the National Park System. |

| I can't see how they would have any authority over existing city and county parks. |
