I know there's an official event a week before, but ...

For over 20 years, my family has gone camping at Cleary Lake on this weekend. Currently there are two caches there. (I think Matt archived his.)

I have approval from Three Rivers to have an event, with temporary caches (all three days !). They must be removed on Monday.

If it's still available, camping is $10.00 per night.

There are a lot of ways to go with this. Is anyone interested?

If anything, I can just pop in and out during the weekend.

I probably wouldn't be camping, but would most likely show up for an event.

Yes, I do them I just don't log them. I would also be more than happy to hide one or two.

Not much interest, so I'll do this:

If you want to check out my caches, or just stop by and say hi, I'll send you a parking pass. Just request it via e-mail. We'll be there from late Friday afternoon until Noon on Monday.

Beer is allowed, hard liquor is "not" Heh Heh

Stay late and have a campfire pizza: perfect after a day of 'caching and a night of snipe hunting !

Hmm, that would be quite an Infamous Snipe Hunt as it is 11.8 miles from Cleary Lake Wink

Rain? What rain? We had a great time.

Friday night the following 'cachers were in camp:

Marsha and Silent Bob, Kitch, Always Money, Kollin S., Michele, and King Boreas

Kitch hid a micro, but the choice was 'caching or beer. Nobody looked for the cache. For some reason, I didn't get up until 3:00 pm the next day.

Marsha and Silent Bob patiently waited, but had to go 'caching on Saturday without me. When s4xton arrived with a beer in hand, how could I resist? I think that at this point the camp had enough beer to stock a small convenience store.

<edit>Grandpa Otto was at the camp on Saturday and Sunday, but came for the golf. </edit>

Campfire pies attracted everyone, and s4xton learned the art quickly. MANY varieties were made, and quickly devoured. After that fun ended, s4xton wanted to look for Kitch's micro. Kollin S. and I accompanied him, but it was impossible in the dark. DNF

On Sunday I went 'caching with Silent Bob. This was my first "team 'caching" experience, and I had a great time. Had to let him find a couple tho. Smile

Good times

Thanks for the fun guys.

Yes, there was little evidence of rain. The people with wet tent floors and lakes forming in the middle of the campsite were just imagining things Smile

Well, supposedly (as I don't remember), you were doing quite a bit of stumbling. Most of your family hadn't seen that in years Wink I was a bad influence. Of course it's ultimately Kitch's fault.

It was a decent part of the day. The sun was peeking through here and there and we only picked up three ticks! Minnesota's caches were nice and easy for the most part. The hardest thing was trying to navigate through the construction and strange roads behind the stores off of 13!

I believe I showed up with two cases of beer. 24 Newcastles, 12 Guinnesses, and 12 Amber Bocks. The Guinness and 16 of the New Castles are gone. There are only 5 Amber Bocks left. They are still on ice in the kitchen. Lots of drunkeness for me this week Wink

He was getting owned by the two other family newbies. Aaron is certainly not much for pie making. Although my peanut butter and chocolate one was good. I don't believe Marsha had any complaints about her's either Wink

Marsha and I, after fighting off several ticks earlier in the day, decided to stay in the camp and tend the fire. I was actually getting worried when 90% of the camp left to go home and they still weren't back. I had to pick a tick off my stomach that night. Luckily he wasn't all the way in and only took a small piece of my stomach fat with him on the way out.

I admit, KB *smoked* me on the tough finds. I again place all blame on Kitch for nothing other than the fact that I can't blame myself Wink

Yeah, there was only so much I could do between all the "getting wet" and getting wet Wink I am planning to go back out there to place a cache so I will get it then.

I never searched for it in the first place.
