I have a booklet for a multi-cache in North Dakota and the coordinates are
N 46.8415434 W-96.9017788 and I want to convert to 46 xx.xxx 96 xx.xx
format.

I can not find anything that allows me to enter all those numbers past the decimal.

When I tried entering more numbers, my etrex30 went nuts and froze up and I had to push the reset button and let the machine rest for a day before I could use it again. That is why I want to covert.

Thanks! Any suggestions are appreciated!

I believe all you need to do is take those decimals and multiply them by 60 (60 minutes in 1 degree)

so .8415434 x 60 = ???

and .9017788 x 60 = ???

Does that look reasonable?

I don't have an etrex, but on Oregon I can set it to decimal format . . . enter the coords . . . then change settings back to the regular geocaching format and conversion is done automagically.
