I am not in the market for a new GPS at all, but the new Garmin 600 series looks pretty nice. Among the big things I noticed, brightest screen they've ever made, and the ability to hold 4 million caches. Yup that's what it said, 4 million.

All at the same time? That's about 3,999,880 better than my 400.

"Load All the Geocaches

No more picking, choosing and planning, just download them all. Oregon 600 can hold up to 4 million. Download every cache on OpenCaching.com. Load caches from GSAK. Or use your favorite program or website supporting GGZ files. All your paperless geocaching features will be there for every cache. Read full descriptions, hints and logs. View cache photos. Filter caches by size, terrain, difficulty and type. Connect to chirp-enabled caches. Record your logs in the field. Do it all."

Quick, somebody, anybody, post some cons!
(other than it can hold every cache on Opencaching.com)
This has just moved to the top of my wish list, and from what I see, the projected price is lower than what I paid when I bought the 550.
Time to start saving my pocket change.

You still have to find the caches.

It's going to take a while to fill it up. Very Happy

So unless you update it a lot ... You will still be missing caches and also looking for disabled or archived ones. Vs phone caching with a live connection. But with no monthly fee though you could do a lot of updating.

It holds 2000 times as many caches as my Oregon 550 and cost considerably less. What's the downside? can you only load opencaching caches?

It only comes in grey with yellow trim which will seriously limit your geocaching wardrobe.

At least it isn't green and yellow. I couldn't buy it if those were the colors. Very Happy

He probably wouldn't go for this either:

It uses a rechargeable (through the mini usb port) lithium battery pack. It also can use 3 AA batteries. Positive or negative, depending how you look at it.

Reviews I've seen are generally pretty good. Seems ok to me. Anyone want to buy my Dakota 20? Wink
