With temps heading below zero for the next couple days, how many of us are spending a lot more time right now looking at cache listings than going out looking for caches?

Only the next couple of cold days? That sums up my entire winter. I think I'm allergic to winter. I have two white calendar days during that cold snap. If I don't find caches then I have to wait another year. I'll admit I did go out on snowshoes yesterday to check on a cache I co-own and today I skied to a cache. It just takes me an hour or two to convince myself to get out there. I'd say it is a good time to design a clever container. I have one in my mind that might be ready to go on Thursday. _________________ Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-

| If the winds dies down, I'll for sure be finding a few caches in the cold. |

But consider: your low temps are our high temps, though I doubt that would stop you. _________________ Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-

Last year during a cold snap we got the 2 caches at the Mall of America.
Are there other places with inside caches? |

| Oddly after working on the 366 challenge all last year - I only missed 2 days in dec due to being very sick, and none in jan or feb. summer is where all my holes are. I'll admit to a lot of park n grab street sign caches in winter though. I did get out early enough today, it was 35 and great out this morning before the cold front howled in. |

| I found 60 today before the wind picked up and I still got to watch the Gopher hockey game. I heard there was another hockey game tonight but I didn't bother watching that one. College hockey is the best! |

In December of 2011, I had to force myself outside to find caches to fill my grid - even went to a Wal-Mart parking lot in the dark in my Army ACUs because one of my blanks was during a Guard weekend. Now, I'm trying to keep a days-with-finds streak alive (even though I did reach 100 days, and even though I told myself I'd be satisfied with reaching that goal, I just can't bear the thought of starting over again now that I'm somewhere around 170). I guess I have an advantage by living in St. Paul - I managed to save one of Team Ripley's P&G caches, and I still have a handful of Sparky Fry's Saint Paul Challenge Series that I qualify for in order to find something nearby and quick in order to keep my streak going. But I'll admit, it's hard to force myself outside, and with this cold snap, if I didn't have a few P&G caches near where I was already headed to run some other errands, I probably would have gladly let my streak end today. _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |

I am impressed with everyone who has the stamina to complete a streak - especially in the cold and snow.
Good luck out there. I need to put more wood on the fire! |

Went out today temp 0 wind strong, Rum River State Forest.
The woods cuts the wind and did not feel as cold.
My dog also could handle it better, after .5 mile hike he did not want to get back in the truck. He wanted to go find more, he realy likes to hike in the woods. The forest roads up there are not good for travel now except by snowmobile. |

Don't Hibernate. Celebrate.
Managed to find one ice cache yesterday in the dark. Yes, it was cold but that is incentive to move faster. The wind was a gusting. Eight hardy souls showed up last night to the event at 2200. It lasted about fifteen minutes and we were on our way. The right set of clothes is enough to keep me caching throughout the winter. |

| -20 F this morning, -45 F with the wind, and is it gusting. I don't think that would be a wise choice to go after a cache. Sauna and hot tub yes, tuperware....no. |
