I have a Windows 8.1 tablet from Microcenter http://www.microcenter.com/search/search_results.aspx?Ntt=Windows+Tablets. I have found free navigation software that uses OSM, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mapfactor.navigator&hl=en.

Getting my Garmin to talk to the tablet took some more research, but as anything, once you know how, it's easy. The driver that works is GPSgate http://gpsgate.com/products/gpsgate_client. Setup took a little fooling around, but once done, it works just fine. Turns out that the server isn't needed.

Last thing to do is to export my database from GSAK to Navigator. I haven't done that yet, but it looks like that's not a big issue.

Hope this is helpful to someone

I have the Winbook too. I had no problems exporting caches from it to my eTrex. I ran into a small snag with the Nuvi export - I was able to export the caches but I don't get a warning tone when I get near GZ.

The only drawback I've had with GSAK on the Winbook is using the Google Map option to download caches. I can't move the map or change the size of the selected area.

I've been able to navigate on the Winbook using mapfactor and my Garmin 18x and Montana.

I have been able to export from GSAK in MapFactor format, but I can't figure out where to put the file in MapFactor so the caches will display. I may need to add something to the export, like icons so that MF has something to display.
