How are you doing on volunteers? Do you have enough people?
I have the general geocaching brochures and the MnGCA specific brochures if our paths should happen to cross in the next week. |

I am planning to attend http://coord.info/GC3CW8F (Geocaching day) and possibly http://coord.info/GC3KFFC (Shadow's bday) and will be volunteering at the fair, so if you have anything that needs to get these I can take it. |

Ya know...if you can get all those people at the fair to sign that log...you got yourself a mega!!!

I don't know how serious you are in this line of thinking, but I'll add my $0.02:
There's a lot of leeway in the mega guidelines for Groundspeak to award mega status at their discretion (read the mega guidelines to see what I mean). I think you'd have a hard time convincing them that 500 fair-goers came there and signed the log specifically because of the event.
An event such as this rides a little bit of a gray line:
http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=308#event
| Quote: |
| If an event is already organized outside of the geocaching community, and/or it would take place regardless whether or not it is listed on Geocaching.com, it is likely not an event cache. Examples include music festivals, neighborhood or block parties, and organized sporting events. |
While the fair itself would take place regardless, the gathering of geocachers at the fair would not take place without the listing.
My opinion (and it's just that) is that you'd need to demonstrate that those that signed the log were there because of the listing on gc.com, not just there to take in the fair. |
lol...I wasn't serious...I will remain hopeful...but I was not serious!!!
That being said...if It did go Mega...that would make it the third in Minnesota (correct me if I am mistaken)...and the third Mega in Minnesota for which I have missed...so...for my sake...and my sake only ( ); please, don't go Mega!!! lol
But...back to PearHead, what you wrote is basically my understanding of "Mega" status and my message was all in good fun!!! _________________ You may only be young once...but I will be immature forever!!! |

Yes, it would be good to get some from you. I can stop by on my way to work one day. _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |

Tickets are in the mail to all that are working the booth. Please let me know when they arrive.
The state sent me an extra if anyone else would like to help out. Morning is needed.
Red, Can I see you Tuesday afternoon?
Thanks All...see you at the EVENT! _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |

Yes, but I am in a meeting all day, at a different location than where we met the last time. Just down the street, but I won't be able to leave the meeting accept at lunch. I'll call you if I get done early, but otherwise it'll probably be 4-4:30. _________________ "We never seek things for themselves-what we seek is the very seeking of things"-Pascal |

Parking is $12, does anyone want to carpool? Or is everyone taking the bus? _________________ "We never seek things for themselves-what we seek is the very seeking of things"-Pascal |

We've had great luck in the past parking free in the UofM lots by the football stadium and then there is free and frequent buses along the busway to the fair. Very quick and easy. I assume it is the same setup this year. |

Unless I have stuff which I need to bring, I am going to bus it.
On that point, if anyone has anything that we need at the fair, flyers, posters, banners, shelters, decorations, whatever and they are not going to be there and they want to get it there let me know.
I work in Eden Prairie/ Minnetonka (62 & 169) and live in Crystal (100 & 81) and would be happy to meet up to get anything we need. Just let me know.
Otherwise, I will see you all on Thursday. |

I think we have all of the above. If anyone has any caches that they like to show that would be great.
If you have one bring a name tag! _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |

We can bring a couple of examples of cache containers. I think Barbara and I are going to ride the Express bus from 73 and 394. I have the brochures from Ms. Mizzou. _________________ If you're successful in what you do over a period of time, you'll start approaching records, but that's not what you're playing for.
