| I’m planning a caching trip for Duluth. Can anyone recommend a nice cheap Hotel/Motel in Duluth? |

| If you're just looking for an inexpensive place to crash for the night the Allyndale Motel was a nice place last time I stayed there. It's right on I-35 at Cody Street so it's well located for caching. There are about three or four caches withing walking distance on the trails. |

I stayed there last year during the spring event. Road construction made it kind of tough to get to, but it was quiet and clean. I would go back. _________________ "We never seek things for themselves-what we seek is the very seeking of things"-Pascal |

I went to Their web site and the reservations did not work right. I had to call them for availability and rates. Thanks, but I'm still checking other options. |

I checked on that. They seem to have problems with their showers, so it may not work. |

Hey, as a Bates whose family use to own a resort on the shore, I'm offended by that remark . _________________ Effective parks and recreation facilities do not just happen on their own. | I have my notes at home but I recall the rate for Allyndale was in the mid 70s. Motel 6 has rooms for 49.99. |

| America's Best Value near Spirit Mountain was about $65 last week. Nice rooms, breakfast just okay, internet worked great. I also stayed at the Voyageuer Inn right downtown when I went on a birding trip to Sax Zim. We got a group rate and the rooms were just fine. Just down the street from Fitgers. |

| It's about 15-20 mins from Duluth itself, but we've stayed at the Black Bear Casino on I 35, the same exit as Jay Cooke State Park... reasonable rates and the nice thing is they have a 24 hour diner so if you cache late or get up early you can still get real food right there. Plus they have a coupon book where you sign up for their club card and one of the coupons is 5 bucks... and unlike Vegas casinos that load your players card with the money so you have to play slot machines or something, this place just hands you 5 bucks in cash for walking over and getting a card, then walking over to the cage. Crazy! |

We stayed in the Motel 6 last night. Their rates are $40 for one person and $46 for two (plus tax) |
