| Alright my dad is nearing the coveted 1000 finds and how do we decide who hides it or does it just happen? |

If your talking about a 1000 tribute cache. Some times it won't happen, I never got one. Maybe you can do one for your dad? Email me if you need help. Congrat's to your dad Jack. |

I didn't get one for my 1000, or my 2000, my 3000, 4000, 5000, or even my 6000. Do I think about it? Sure, once in a while. Am I sad or upset? No. I figure if I have not done enough for the caching community, then so be it.
Besides, what's stopping YOU from creating the tribute cache? |

I too didn't receive a 1000 cache tribute and at that time, it seemed everyone was getting one. To answer your question, it doesn't just happen; someone who is friends with the cacher must make the decision to do it for them. I think the cachers who have gotten them have caching buddies that they go out with all the time, so they know when their friend is approaching the 1000 number.
So looks like it is up to you, if you want to do it. |

1000 is the new 100.
It took me about 16 months to find my first 1000 caches, 78 days to find my last. I've seen profiles of people who found 1000 caches in 3 days. _________________ "Hi, I'm Moe, or as the women know me - Hey! You in the bushes."

I know of a tribute cache placed for someone that has done a lot for the caching community yet the man of honor didn't bother to go look for it |

You was to fast to 1000 so You got a 2000 and a 5000. Jack just do it or ask someone near your home area and it will get done. _________________ Animals taste good |

I am not sure that's the same as a tribute..
I suppose in a way, Paklid's Black Bart cache was a tribute. But I took it as more of a mockery of the county than anything else. Or maybe a mockery of me. |

Hey Butcher, I'm glad it was the 2000th. It was a great one and well worth the wait.
