Just an idea but shouldn't the *MN*GCA meetings be scheduled at a resonable time and day?
For example the next MNGCA meeting is in Duluth at 6:30pm on a Friday. That's GREAT that its in Duluth. I've done some caching up there and had a lot of fun... but don't folks typically get off work at 5pm? In my case, coming up from the Twin Cities takes at least two hours and that's in excellent driving conditions.
That doesn't just go for this particular scenario... it goes both ways for Duluth people, folks from Rochester, or from anywhere else ... anyone that would like to come to the meetings in the Cities. If you're going to be an organization that takes representation for the whole state - make it a convenient time for the masses.
Breakfast Buddies seems to have always worked out well. Its always had great turn out and I believe a lot of that has to do with it being on a Saturday morning. Have it in Duluth sometime! I'd be all over that! |

That's not an MNGCA meeting. It's an event. I think it's great that people in other parts of the state are holding events. _________________ "Hi, I'm Moe, or as the women know me - Hey! You in the bushes."

I had a feeling this was going to be misunderstood. I'm not against events. My arguement is about *MNGCA meetings* being at inconvenient times or days.
On the front of the mngca web site it says this is a meeting. That should be changed if its an event.

The assumption you made is that bacause the event is entitled "Geocaching Meeting" is that it is an MNGCA meeting. The event is being organized by an individual, not the MNGCA. _________________ "Hi, I'm Moe, or as the women know me - Hey! You in the bushes."

I saw the annoucement, read the cache page, and understood that it was meant to be a local event for the Duluth-area cachers. It's not a huge deal to me how it is listed. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

Now I see the problem. It's the listing on the front page of the MNGCA site that's misleading. I thought you were objecting to the event listing on gc.com. _________________ "Hi, I'm Moe, or as the women know me - Hey! You in the bushes."

Relax folks - this is not a big deal. I wanted to encourage our Duluth members and others to attend the event, which is a meeting, so I ran it up the flagpole. I did ask the event poster's permission and they readily agreed.
For those concerned I will move it to the events list when I have time.
I apologize for any inconvience or confusion this has caused.
To answer your first point, the recent "official" meeting was scheduled at a "resonable time and day" according to the boardmembers and was well attended, proving this point. For those that can't attend evening meetings, the May event will also have a quick meeting if it follows the pattern of earlier ones. |

| No, it really isn't a big deal - my problem mostly has to do with condescension. |

Condensation? You're not the first to call me "all wet"!

I wasn't being condecending (at least not meaning too) just blind. I missed where you clearly said your concern was the front page of the MNGCA site and assumed incorrectly that you were looking at the event listing. If I sounded patronizing, and I apparently did, I apologize. _________________ "Hi, I'm Moe, or as the women know me - Hey! You in the bushes."
