Jamie Zawinksi's site can swallow hours of your time. Jamie was employee #20 at Netscape, and he as a unique writing style that you will either love or hate. He is one of my personal heroes.

www.nasa.gov is a great site, and I've been a fan even before the latest Mars stuff started. You can link from there to get ephemeris for visible satellites (http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/cities/viewsighting.cgi?St_Paul.html or http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/SSapplications/Post/JavaSSOP/JavaSSOP.html), and find out when you can see stuff like the International Space Station, MIR, etc. Before the hiatus with the Shuttle program, I would look that up, and actually saw the Shuttle dock with the ISS a couple years ago, based on the viewing times for our area that I pulled off the website. I've always had an interest in the space program, and I've had coworkers go to Florida just to watch a space launch, and my mom and step-dad who live in California have gone to Edwards to watch the Shuttle land, and I want to do those two things before I die. _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |

I'm a daily visitor there too, Tango. I also like space.com as well. It covers all worldwide space news including NASA, Europe, Japan and China. Mars is uber-cool but I'm also following the X-prize competition, especially Burt Rutan's Space Ship One. 2004 should mark the first year that a private company sends people into orbit. |
