|
Over the next ten weeks, a few of us* in the west metro area are hiding a series of winter-friendly caches designed to help people keep streaks up over the long winter months. The series is called Cache vs. Winter. The goal is 80 hides in all.
All of the caches are designed to be winter friendly and close to parking. Some may be puzzles, but they should be relatively straightforward.
Red Devil suggested we make a public bookmark list for this, so here it is:
Cache vs. Winter Series
Enjoy!

Nice idea
This is a problem with many caches as they are place during the summer but conditions change drastically with the seasons.
I see a new winter friendly series in the future for the south metro soon also. That Talasay just won't quit.

Thank goodness because Lord knows there aren't enough winter friendly park and grabs in the south metro. |

| Talasay doesn't normally hide in what would be considered Metro. South of the metro maybe |

I should also add that one of the goals it to not place the caches in or near good park or caching areas with lots of nature. Don't want to burn up the good spaces with park 'n grabs on signs. |

You might consider taking a look at this series. The puzzles on here are good "starter puzzles," and I know of a few people who have found it helpful as a way to get involved in puzzles. The bookmark list even includes hints on some of them. Most of the puzzles in the winter series are comparable to ones on this list. |

I used to race to puzzles like a lot of you westerners. But it just got to be too saturated and lost interest. Perhaps I can hope for a 3rd annual Puzzle Event. |

+1
If it were my planet, I'd remove a few of the puzzles from the series for being too hard. But it's not my planet, and seeingitdifferent relentlessly pesters me to add his puzzles to the bookmark list whenever I try to omit them.
In any case, it's now at 7 traditionals and 10 puzzles. |

| What the list really needs is some winter friendly multis and letterboxes. Let's broaden our horizons away from the ESOTERIC puzzles! |
