As someone who is trying to complete that 365-day streak challenge, I'm hopeful we don't get buried in snow too soon. If we could make it another month without significant snow, that would help a ton. |
A big snow just make it easier. All you havet to do is follow the footprints in the snow of the person that last found it. It really shrinks the search area down. |

So, what is your winter gear and weapons for caching??
Mine:
Ski/Jacket and pants of course,
Snowshoes (bought them last December, love them)
poker stick for locating caches under the snow
military foldable shovel (darn people that bury their caches)
extra gloves/mittens
and of course boots that come up to my knees. |

I just bought new wool socks!
I also have a boot/glove dryer that I can use in my car, as it can run on batteries, or with an adapter, the cigarette lighter. I am ready! _________________ "We never seek things for themselves-what we seek is the very seeking of things"-Pascal |

I usually wear several light layers that I can remove when I get warm. I have an awesome new hat/hood thing that keeps my head and neck warm, and a multitude of gloves. Boots, gaiters, snowshoes, poles, collapsible shovel, hand/foot warmers, head lamp...wow that sounds like a lot of stuff! _________________ "We never seek things for themselves-what we seek is the very seeking of things"-Pascal |

Pajama Pants, Minnetonka moccasins, favorite Green Bay Packer sweatshirt, remote control, hot cider beverage, smart phone for easy look-up, big screen TV…wait, that’s my game day list. For caching I go with the basic hat, gloves, snowmobile bibs, coat, warm boots and socks. My only weapons are a flashlight and a GPS. I’ve never seen a frozen plastic jar that can stand up to a blow with anything other than a stick. I've been known to put some handwarmers in my gloves from time to time. _________________ Ahhhhhhhh, the power of cheese! |

The clan and spatten went out this past Sat...in the storm...to grab A cache in Northwood....Needless to say, we are STILL out caching, and hopin' to get up to the Cities this weekend to grab a few more. Got a couple of milestones to grab if we can....one being 400 *yes...Im working on updating my count on GC) and one being 365 in one year. Right now we are sitting at about 335 for one year...which is kind of cool....LOL.
Oh...and Ive been going around in tennis shoes, sweatshirt, and light shell of a coat (to spatten's chagrin) |
