As most of the regulars know a bunch of us regularly go caching at least once a week. This week's group excursion is Thursday the 29th.
Looks like the following caches are possibly candidates to coincide with the predermined "after-caching get together location":
Merkong's "Highland Park or "The Tenth Hole" (link)
Good-Boy's "The Road To Nowhere" (link) _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

I forgot to add "Other" as an option. Feel free to suggest caches that you would like to do _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

| I guess my vote would be for both. If I had to pick one, however, I would pick the tenth hole. |

"Gephysrophobia"
Welcome to the clinic of geocaching phobias, fears, and anxiety. This topic of this cache will focus on "gephysrophobia".
Our board-certified team specializes in helping individual geocachers overcome fears, phobias & anxiety of all kinds, and is particularly focused on problems such as Potophobia (our speciality), Coulrophobia, Dendrophobia, Iophobia, and others. With a success rate close to 100% we can offer to refund our fee to clients if they are not successful in overcoming the fear.
What is Phobia Of Bridges?
Defined as "a persistent, abnormal, and irrational fear of crossing bridges", each year, this surprisingly common phobia causes countless geocachers needless u-turns and rerouting of maps.
To add insult to an already distressing condition, most phobia of bridges therapies take months or years and sometimes even require the patient to be exposed repeatedly to their fear. We believe that not only is this totally necessary, it is required. It is particularly cruel as a method and just 2 hours of commitment by the geocaching individual with issues will be cured.
Known by a number of names Gephydrophobia, Gephyrophobia, Gephysrophobia, and Fear of Crossing Bridges being the most common, the problem often significantly impacts the quality of life. It can cause panic attacks and keep people apart from loved ones-(FTF's) and Travel bugs. Symptoms typically include shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and overall feelings of dread, although everyone experiences phobia of bridges in their own way and may have different symptoms.
What is the cause of Phobia Of Bridges?
Like all fears and phobias, Phobia of Bridges is created by the unconscious mind as a protective mechanism. At some point in your past, there was likely an event linking crossing bridges and emotional trauma such as being 2nd to find on an RJ puzzle. Whilst the original catalyst may have been a real-life scare of some kind, the condition can also be triggered by myriad, benign events like looking at cookie tin, tuppeware, or perhaps seeing someone else logging a cache online.
How do you Solve the Problem of Phobia of Bridges?
We don't actually solve anything. Its your problem. You need to complete a 2 step multi-cache.
Your protective undergarment may be required while hunting and logging this cache... |
