Wow I don’t know about the rest of you but this year seems to be flying by! Spring came and went and summer has now arrived. Hope you all have survived the storms we have had without much damage or loss.
As you know we had to replace Jonas as Secretary and the board voted unanimously to have speedysk1 to take over the position. Thanks to his willingness to fill the position and the hard work he has done for the organization.
I would like to thanks all the members that gave of their time and energy to put together an awesome Spring Event! A great time was enjoyed by all that attended and was also the MnGCA’s 100th event. The t-shirt design is great and many people have purchased this year’s shirt. At the membership meeting we discussed the upcoming MnGCA Geocoin for this year. The design is amazing and the committee, headed up by RudeRat, has done an amazing job! Look for the announcement on the design and sale of the coin coming soon. A fun little surprise coming along with the announcement as well. We discussed some of the changes in park policies, some good, like St Paul and Maple Grove. Thanks to all the members that helped get these more cacher friendly. We discussed the not so good changes like Detroit Lakes. I discussed that some of these policies and negative changes come about because of what can be viewed as irresponsible caching. Remember to think about what and where you hide something as well as how you go about looking for those harder hides. Let’s not give parks and cities reasons to feel the need to create policies.
EPMinnesota has put together some upcoming MnGCA events that are exciting to see. Look for the First Ever Pizza Night as well as a CITO event that has been published as well.
It is the time of year to start the nomination process for those that will be voted on to be the next board of the MnGCA. Start talking to those you want to nominate and get those nominations in. Look for the forum and threads to nominate for all the board positions.
The board is planning its next board meeting soon so if there is something you would like discussed please feel free to contact a board member. We can all be contacted through board@mngca.com We look forward to hearing for you. |
