Yup, but the real post was about 10 times longer than your condensed version. So I tried the not so condensed, condensed version... if that makes sense Laughing.

I loved Skykings explanation if for no other reason that it was well researched, detailed and really gave me a headache!! I'm a retired Operations Specialist (OSC USN RET) with countless hours using Radar and Satnav and I was quite impressed. Man you are way over my head! Excuse me while I take a few Alieve. Thank you Skyking for a very informative and detailed explanation. By the way, what was the subject of this thread??

A-Body wanted to see what people thought of his GPSr traveling 2 miles sitting on his desk, and if that was bad.

I guess I knew some of that but SkyKing explained it in more detail than I can coprehent. I don't think I meant to say that my GPS was showing me 1.59 miles from home, but that it traveled 1.59 miles, 30 feet at a time as it bounced around my current location

Ohhh! That makes a LOT more sense... I was thinking you meant that some of the samples over the course day showed you 1.59 miles from home.

To quote Gilda Radner... "Nevermind." Smile

What Sky King is saying is:

I wasted 24 hours for nothing Very Happy
