Having collaborated with the National Park Service on the Mississippi River it always bothers me when they allow others to say "Park" or even better "National Park" when in fact it is the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area not a National Park, huge difference. Although it doesn't make any difference for geocaching though, same policy.

At least at this point, I think that I am glad to see some sort of direction being taken to protect the area, although I know all too well that sometimes the protection actually suffocates the thing that it is trying to protect.

Sorry, there are no substitutions for any Challenge that might require this cache.

I went to this Sneak Peek. Interesting tour. The buildings have been ground up up into piles of Gravel! Worth it just to see that! Lots of interesting history in this 30 acre area. Real Estate scoundrels, Typhoid outbreaks, wars and suicides. They are planning many more information tours as the work proceeds. I would recommend it.

They are also looking for volunteers that are GPS savvy for a trail mapping project. Friday May 11, 2012 from 2:00pm to 5:00. They need a minimum of 5. If more than 5 volunteer we can form groups, the more the merrier!!!
