I'm just wondering if we got a firm date of the commission meeting. Jay's email said Monday, December 2. Well December 2 is a Friday. I looked up on the website and the parks commission meets first Monday of the month at 7PM. So I'm assuming they mean Monday, December 5. However it could also be Monday, November 7. I'd like to attend and don't want to miss it. I'm happy to send an email asking, but didn't want to poke them multiple times. Have you had the date clarified yet?
Incidentally, I doubt the parks commission ever gets an audience, so it would be cool to have a show of force! |
Let me get clarification! |

Here's Jay's response:
Sorry for the wrong date. The correct date is Monday, December 5th at 7pm in the council chambers. Please feel free to attend. |

Thanks EPMN,
I'm planning to attend. While there doesn't seem to be an urgent reason for a large attendance, I'm planning to go just to give a face to the issue. I'd love to have company from any local cachers! |

So it's looking good, right, but as of now the permit is in effect till after the parks meeting Dec 5?
I'm feeling an urge to hide since I just discovered one of my EP caches has gone missing. |

| That's how I understand. This is a 6 month trial starting after the meeting assuming it gets approved. |

Also, assuming they have a map ready by then so Fruitcake knows whether a cache is in an allowed area or not? _________________ Tupperware doesn't belong in the kitchen! |

I've also been wondering the same thing. And I guess the CO's would also like to see the map of the allowed areas. |

I assume this is still on for Monday at 7pm? I'm hoping to attend. _________________ Tupperware doesn't belong in the kitchen! |

I went to the meeting, along with EPMN, Geopierce, and Dornole. The resolution was approved by the parks commission but the effective date seems to be unclear. At one point "next spring" and 6 months were mentioned. In the end Jay said it will be days, not weeks or months for this to take effect. Even though the fancy maps will not be available for 6 months, he was cool with giving it a go, knowing that MNFC will do a good job. I think the jist of what he said was more good than harm will come of getting this going.
So I guess we're still waiting. Hopefully not for long. |

Darn, you beat me to it!
I'm so glad we don't have to wait until they get the maps online. I know MNFC will do a good job and we'll also be self policing because most of us know what is ok and what is not. _________________ Tupperware doesn't belong in the kitchen! |

| I got the sense they want to firm things up with MNFC before they go live. |
