I found an odd log on one of my caches (well, an empty log), found July 18, 2011. Checked on the user and his Last Visit was 21 Feb 2011.
Has anyone see this happen before? Wondering if it's a bug on the Groundspeak site. |

I have seen these blank logs also. I am guessing they are logging from some type of phone app and it doesn't show they log in? That is the only thing I can think of. Every time I have tried to just submit a log without any text in it from my PC, it gives the error and makes you type at least one character. |

| Not only that, how can you post a find without having your last visit show up on your profile page? |

| I agree. I've seen that before too. I don't get it either how someone can post a log under their name yet their profile says they haven't logged into gc.com in months. I've seen something similar to that on this site as well. |

I've had this happen A LOT lately.
Someone went on a run of my caches and all their found logs are blank.
I did some checking, and here's what I found out. It may be BS, since I don't know anything about the Andriod phone or the Geocaching app it uses; but you are able to log a find without entering any text, just click the found tap.
Is it the free app, or pay app?? I do not know.
The thing that gets me is........ How hard is it to put a simple TFTC or what not, even a this "cache sucks" would be better than an a blank log.

| You don't have to enter anything anymore to log a find. Not even a dot. |

Really??!! I did not know that.
Wow, guess I always thought you still had to log something or other.
The way look at it, the CO placed the hide, hopefully takes care of the hide; the least I can do as a finder, is leave a little something something on their cache page.
It doesn't have to be two paragraphs long, but a TFTC TNLNSL is better than a blank log.

I just tried doing this on the website and you still have to enter text. |

Been there done that
yes some phone apps will log the find but not include text. I log mine to a text file and manually post them for this reason.
It's not a glitch it's just that the text has to be setup in the app so every log will be the same like "TFTC" etc. |

I'm with both of you guys. I appreciate every cache I hunt for... well, nearly every cache. The way I communicate this (and I hope I AM communicating this) is by a log that is more than the minimum. The only time I log "TFTC"...well, it's a comment. I'll leave it at that. |
