Events have been held just about anywhere!
There are often "Cup of Joe" events at coffee shops. KB has quite a few events in St. Paul parks. Been to a few in party rooms at Pizza places. Parks are great places, because caches are already there. Heck Butcher hosted an event in his yard once (although not a geocaching.com published event - it was a FNC/Fundraiser)
It depends on the area you're looking for, what type of event you're trying to do, and who you're trying to draw in. If you're looking to just socialize, inside is probably the ideal. If you want people to socialize AND have fun hiking around finding caches, I'd find a park.
Does this help at all? What are you thinking? |

I was trying to find a place for Cache-Luck, you know? Take a cache, leave a cache. I think I found a good Pizza Place. |

Too bad I can't patent it. You can't take it... It's mine!
Some Friday I'll do it. It's still in the Works, though.

If you do, you must give me credit. You know, something like "©2011, 97rs24", "Cache-Luck™", or even, "Cache-Luck®". |

Okay, am I the only one that doesn't understand what cache-luck is? |

Like a potluck? Bring a dish to share and eat what others bring. Cacheluck is bring a cache and take a different cache home. _________________ Tupperware doesn't belong in the kitchen! |

Cool. Now I get it. I am planning to place a large cache and stock it with containers for people who need a container or have extras. I always seem to have too many lying around. |

Found one in South Dakota http://coord.info/GC1HVEC. I'm going back in a few weeks for a second stop. I forgot to grab a seed on the first. Check it out if your ever there. You might meet the CO. |

It is a nice cache, with lots of great containers.
My first hide is a seed from there! Qwerty2582's First (fun) Hide! |

Yeah, he hit publish on the wrong one. I accidentally had a little advertising in it. Hold on... |
