I am nominating Minnehaha Falls as the May 2011 Cache of the Month. The beauty of Minehaha falls is amazing and even more in the winter (when I found it). Thanks to seeingitdifferent for hiding the cache.


GC2HPC0 - Sapphire Surprise: Gurojo Nets 2K! by salsman & mazzmn nominated by Jaklimber

I'll start by saying that this puzzle cache is definately tricky. It's not something that every geocacher is even interested in because there's barely any indication what to do to find the final coordinates. I know that the owners of this cache are more than willing to help fellow geocachers to solve puzzles, so even if you HATE puzzles, at least send an e-mail...it might end up easier than you think.

This geocache is deserving of COTM for at least a couple reasons:
--The puzzle is rewarding to solve. There's a neat trick you'll use, then chug your way through a little work to find the answer. There are wrong paths you can take and a couple twists, but that's what makes the solve rewarding.
--The cache container, placement and park which it is located in are high quality. The walk is nice and sceneic throught the park with many other caches to visit. The placement is fun, but not too challenging. The owners put some time and effort into the container and it's quality swag.

This time of year is great for geocaching in Oxbow Park with many wildflowers along the trails...and OF COURSE it's worth the trip...there are almost two dozen caches in the park for your enjoyment.


GC2MEW8- Cache a Falling Star by mnfishnutz and Troutonthebrain nominated by WestSideDaddy

This was a clever hide and a great location and just a lot of fun to find (partly as part of a big WNC event, but nice in and of themselves).

Between this one and it's neighbor Vista Plymouth they are a pair of nice caches.


GC2TK22 - 1000 stories - Jo_botmn style by geoposse (aka jjjgirl2007) nominated by loneeagle_24

This is a NEW unique cache that has a few twists to it. It has only been out for a few days but has to be one of my favorite caches in quite some time. It is in Willmar Mn so it probably won't get many visits.. If you get a chance to get out to this area I highly reccomend trying to find this cache.
