I think that after reading the information of people seeking units (including myself previously) in the forums that maybe this should be a separate topic so that others are able to find GPS units to borrow.
I have seen units borrowed from the State Parks (although this was a DNR / County Park event if that makes a difference) and then also 4H. _________________ ~~ I was told all I needed was a GPS. I wanted everything else. ~~ |

From my experience the State park units can only be used in the parks unless it is a DNR function. Even at that the DNR folks have to have a relationship with the park people. (It is all about who you know)
If you can get the classes moved to a park that would be the way to go.
I have had Boy Scout training classes at William O'Brien with 8 temp caches that I set up with the park naturalist. We keep those out most of the year.
We also have 18 units to use.
If anyone needs help with working with the State Parks let me know. _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |

We can't move the event, that is pretty much set in stone!
When you say you have 18 units to use, does that mean we can borrow them? _________________ "We never seek things for themselves-what we seek is the very seeking of things"-Pascal |

Sorry, I mean the state park has 18. I run their geocaching program so I feel like a partner with them. _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |

The 4H has units the group should be able to borrow. _________________ Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. |

Check with you local Regional Extension Office. Most around the state are stored at Regional Offices...but, not all Regional Offices have units...
I know, about a clear as mud...but, if you are familiar with 4-H, I assume you know your nearest Regional Office. If not, let me know the County and I can help you get into contact with a U of MN Extension Regional Office. _________________ You may only be young once...but I will be immature forever!!! |
