I do caching for fun. Trying to hit 100 in a single day sounds too much like work to me.

Hitting 100 in a day is a lot of fun. Logging 100 is definitely NOT fun. I did it on a bike with a friend. Great exercise!

Ya'll need to head over by Watertown, SD! Room 104 has MANY many caches in the area, if u like them all on signs that is the place to go. Just drive down the gravel road and start collecting them. I did 85 (81 finds and 4 DNF's) of mainly his in one afternoon. Started at about noon and was done just shortly after 6 p.m. when it started raining. This was all done by myself. If someone else would have been with we might have been able to get abiut 120 in that same amount of time. Just did a query for that area and went for it. No special plan on my part. There were a couple of them that I definately had to use TOTT's to grab though.

It's been disabled since May. I wonder if the Reviewer will send him a reminder about getting the cache back in business? Wink Laughing Laughing

My wife and I went to Watertown for my birthday last year with 100 caches in a day as our goal. We got into town the day before and spent the first day on EarthCaches, a few multis, some higher difficulty caches and our first Whereigo. The next day we started somewhat early and with little planning found 104 before driving back home. As we cached we had a blinding flash of the obvious, we should have brought the bikes.

Two caching friends took their bikes and two cars to one of the bike trails in the state and got close to 100 in an afternoon of caching.

One hundred in a day was a goal that I am glad we did, but none of these caches are finds we tell stories about.

I just wanted to point out that I've been caching over a year, and haven't hit 100 yet...almost there, but not yet.

There are so many options now to get a 100 in a day that it's almost not even an interesting stat anymore.

When I did the Sakatah Trail, we started at 10AM and by about 3PM we had 106 finds.

Here are just a a couple of options..
- Sakatah
- Paul Bunyan
- Plainview
- Onamia to Mill Lacs
- Bobcam's hides in Wisconsin
- Room104 hides in SD

plus the heartland, it merges into the paul bunyan around the walker area. there are plans for it to extend from the walker area all the way to moorhead.

Looks like his best day was on Nov. 26, 2011 when he did over 1500 caches in one day. He powertrailed. That averages out to 1 cache per minute for 24 hours straight. Hmmm....

Actually, I think that is even less than a minute. 24*60 = 1440 minutes in a day * 60 = 86400 / 1502 = 57.5 seconds per cache. I don't even know how that is possible! You'd have to have a driver and the Nevada PT I suppose, but even so - didn't he ever stop to use a restroom or eat or anything?

That doesn't even sound like fun. I think if I were to do that for one day, that my very well be my last day caching.
