I'll be heading up that way in two more days and was just wondering (from the land now of pretty much no snow at all) how much snow is still on the ground right now in the Metro area? Particularly the north metro? Thanks.

In the North Metro, everything is still mostly covered by thin snow, though there are open areas. I just found three caches in a woodsy park in St Michael and the trail was covered by an average of about 2 inches of snow with a few open areas.

Mostly not a factor, I'd say, but micros on the ground might be tricky or caches on hillsides that face north can have quite a bit of snow left.

So bringing along snowboots might be a good plan, but no need for snowshoes anymore? We've given up micros on the ground for Lent, LOL.

I'd recommend some sort of waterproof footwear as there is still snow on the ground, and if you happen to find a patch that has no snow chances are the ground is super saturated, also farther back in parks don't be surprised to discover pockets of deep snow still. Before this last round of snow hit everything was pretty much melted in a lot of places, we still found a park in EP where we were up to our knees in very wet snow.
