For those of us trying to keep a streak alive or filling in our grid, I thought maybe we could help each other. I thought maybe cachers might be interested in sharing a list of caches findable after last weekends snow. By that I mean not needing snowshoes, not trudging to a cache in waist high snow, not having to shovel to get to kind of caches. The kind I could find when I'm Christmas-ing in the Lakeville/AV area or Kenyon area next week ON THE WAY to the relatives so showing up in caching gear or winter hat hair really wouldn't be the best. Apparently, AV hiders either don't hide winter-friendly caches (as it seems according to search done on caches found in the last 5 days or so) or the cachers in the area have found them all or they're just winter wimpy. I found only a handful of caches anywhere near the area the relatives live that I can either sneak out and grab or grab on the way there. I emailed a cacher in my area recently with a couple winter-friendly caching suggestions of my caches he hadn't found yet to help keep his streak alive and I know I can use some help too! Can you help?
My caches (in Eden Prairie) that should be findable (no guarantees of course!) after last weekends snow are:

GC1N067 This one is about 10 feet off a plowed path but no one has forged a trail to it yet. Pine tree hide.

and this one is a quick multi where both stages are above snow-level but no guarantee on how much snow you might have to trudge through from first stage to second stage but definitely winter-friendly

I found Smallish Small Cache on Thursday. It is in Excelsior.

I found Ice Harvesting on the south side of Cedar Lake, north of Calhoun, right after the first snow. It should still be available after this last deluge.

Did a PQ today and went out geocaching. Selected only those caches with snowflake and 2/2 attributes. I've never had a higher DNF percentage. I've done better caching blind. A bad day caching Eden Prairie, Edina and Hopkins.

Here's what I've found since the 10th - some of these you might have go a little ways through some snow, and others you might have to wait out some muggles (I won't say which caches, though, so it isn't a complete gimme), but you'll hit paydirt when you get to GZ -

Here are some that I have found recently that will be available even with snow:

GC2K3GF - a short walk through some snow to this one just off 35W
GCVVAD - Penn Avenue Shuffle - super easy in the winter
GCWQQY - Office Space - near 494/100
GC2AWPK - walk through some snow, but is going to be findable all winter

I have found that running a pocket query for those found in the last 7 days works the best for filling in the grid.

Aaaahhh...here's one in Apple Valley area that has been found by a few people since the snow AND it's themed for the season! While it's a great find during the day apparently it's even more fun after dark!

Found 45 today, mainly the micromania series. Had to dig out a few, but lots were already dug out. Having said that, there is another 5 to 9" of snow forecast for tomorrow The joys of winter caching!!
