We are thinking about dumping our Wii because off of the issues we are having with it, so I need your input on the pro’s and cons on the X box and the PS3 gaming systems. Thanks for your help.

Mind if I as what's up with your Wii? Ours throws a fit once in a blue moon, but it's invaluable for Netflix viewing.

My son would be happy to send you a detailed review . . . . we have an embarrassingly large array of consoles and handhelds. I think X box is the only thing we don't have.

He's a big PS3 fan after meticulous research. In a nutshell you might want to look at the titles and the kinds of games you would like to play including ratings if that is an issue for the fam.

If it is more for the kids and you are not a graphics fiend I almost might go retro . . . the kids play the game cube games (which you may have for your Wii already?) and the old Supernintendo a lot -- or you might think about getting handhelds like Nintendo DS or even an old gameboy advance, lots of great games and good availability of systems and titles at gamestop or play n trade.

The thing I like about PS3 is it is a bluray player which is nice if you don't have one and you can download movies, etc as well I believe.

JJnTJ we did a software update and haven’t been able to play a game since. We called there customer support to see if they could walk us through how to wipe the old one off. There only response was send it in for repair at a cost of 75 bucks.

And yes the Blue Ray player is a big plus.

I love my PS3. I have an an Xbox (not the 360) and rarely used it.

Playstation 4 isn't slated to come out until late 2012. Where are you seeing release in a month?

PS3. You can stream Netflix on the PS3 just like the Wii and it's got Blueray.
