I see only 5 caches near the site as of today, but I’m sure they will add a bunch before March. The old MOGA site had a lot of caches, but the terrain and the lack of roads made it difficult to collect a lot of finds in a short period of time anyway. Also, the lack of infrastructure and the distance you needed to travel from one part of the site to the other was a real time waster at the old MOGA site. The new site still has a reservoir to go around, but the roads look much better and there are decent sized towns nearby. I'm hoping this will be an improvement.
Because of the conflict with Spring School Break I can’t go this year, but I expect that this site change will be a change for the better. Maybe in 2012 for me? |

I received this email from MOGA a little over a week ago, so I am sure there will be lots of caches:
From: MOGA 2010 <REMOVED>

Subject: MOGA Cache Hides
To: REMOVED
Hi All,
We are planning the MOGA 2011 cache hide on Saturday Oct. 30 at Rend Lake. We are meeting at 9:00 am at the North Sandusky Recreation Area. Coordinates are N38 03.931 W88 59.788. This is on the west side of the lake south of where Hwy 154 crosses the lake.
Everybody is welcome, and participating in this hide will NOT disqualify you from competing at MOGA. Please reply to <REMOVED> if you are able to help. Please bring a lunch and drinks, we should be able to get all of them placed in one day. Also be sure to bring your cords to connect your gps to the computer. Thank you and we will see you there. |

I will know by March 1st if the wife will let me go. If I go I plan on hauling the popup camper... water proof and has a furnace.
I may have room if interested.. |

| I drove right by here on my drive back from Nashville when I helped my brother move back to the cities...I hadn't payed attention to this thread much, but maybe we'll go...I remember driving across Rend Lake and wanting to spend more time looking at it. |

Thought I was going to get back there this year. But alas no. I'll be in Belize or Honduras that weekend. _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

Sigh... that's a real shame, Dave. Too bad you can't go somewhere fun for a change! _________________ Alcohol & calculus don't mix. Don't drink & deriv |

| Still only 50-50 on whether I can go. But reserved my campsite and paid my registration. Probably tent instead of tow camper.. that's quite a haul. |

Some might be going but don't want it to be public knowledge.

I know last year when KB and jrest appeared I was surprised to see them. The only way I remember knowing at the time that they were coming was I started seeing their names in logbooks as we approached MOGA. If they posted to the forums with their intent then I missed it...
I think KB's afraid of the mob of admirers that will come out of the woodwork if the King appears. _________________ Hmm... |
