wondering who else has come across a new cacher that goes by (spuke)

Cacher has no finds, I have seen that this person has actually signed the paper logs, but writes a note on gc.com that just says "peekaboo". I first noticed on one of my new caches - almost made me go back to make sure it wasn't muggled. He/she also logged at GC2CQAG Coffee and Tea event.. "peekaboo, I was there" -- I find it a little creepy? or a new cacher that just doesn't know or want to log an actual "attended" or "found it"? |

| I've seen the same "peekaboo" logs on a few caches in the New Prague/Jordan/Belle Plaine area also. I too thought they were quite odd. |

That user logged one of my caches and I assumed it was a bogus account so I deleted it. I didn't get any email from them so that confirms my assumptions. _________________ Tupperware doesn't belong in the kitchen! |

I agree it's creepy. He/She has logged my caches as well with just the peekaboo. He/She doesn't seem to reply to any emails. _________________ Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. |

Blind log deleting... hmm. I suppose if it wasn't a Found It. |

| I think that was the same cacher that emailed me saying one of my published caches was on private property (which it isn't) |

I don't care. It was a note and just the username makes it sound like a joke. _________________ Tupperware doesn't belong in the kitchen! |

Oh, not making judgements. I was more or less contemplating what I'd do. |

Sounds like a local cacher with a sock puppet account playing Halloween games.
If it gets to the point of being abusive then just complain to gc.com and they will either fix the problem or remove the account. Not much else you can do. Nothing says that a cacher has to log. _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

I had this person do the same on one of my hides. I sent and email but the person said it was His/Her intent to just post notes.
I guess I don't really care what people do..
So I just let it be.
Is it just you or me?
As I say with modest glee!
People can be what they wish, maybe........ |

This is the one ST11 was talking about. It was the first one I had seen. IIRC, the paper log is signed

I ran across them in New Ulm at: http://coord.info/GC2CK5Z on Sept. 25th. I drove past this cache and saw a car parked nearby. I went to another and then came back for this one. They planted a "decoy cache" in a beacon near the real cache with a note: "Decoy! Keep looking. spuke". They signed the log in the original cache.

Sparkyfry pointed me to this thread. Very interesting...
I was up early one morning, before dawn, looking in a park for the FTF on a cache called Fence Line when I heard footsteps coming towards me in the dark. I've been in woods enough to know the difference between the sounds of people and animals, and my initial reaction was that another cacher was nearby: the sounds, the noise, the movement, everything, struck me as human.
But then nothing happened. No more sounds. I flashed my flashlight around the woods, which were very heavily overgrown, but I didn't see anything. I actually got a bit scared at the time, as I was convinced there was another person there. But when nothing happened, I figured that it must have been some sort of an animal moving about. I found the cache, moved on the next cache and didn't hear or see anything else strange.
Later that day when I was looking over the logs on the cache, I noticed that rickrich logged the cache after that, but right after that was a note posted by spuke saying "peekaboo."
I wouldn't say that it scared me at all, but it did make me wonder if the two events were connected. Haven't had anything happen like that since then, so I'm pretty sure it was just a coincidence. |
