Maybe if GC.com moved to a real operating system and technology that wasn't Windoze based they wouldn't have all these problems. But I know many of the developers are ex-Microsoft people. Oh well. _________________ Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. |

Is it an operating system problem or a lame .NET coder at Groundspeak problem? |

Yes!
Either way it's microsoft crap. Yes, microsoft makes some things easier to implement, but their performance and reliability are terrible. We had to abandon any support of windoze because it's not stable enough. When you work in an environment with "high 9s" uptime, like I do, you can't afford system failures. MS is not the server OS or development platform for high performance. That's just my personal experience. With .NET and other windoze things, in my experience, you trade ease of implementation with performance. Sorry, I suppose that's a bit off topic, but I'm sure it's related. _________________ Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. |

Microsoft crap?? Yes, off topic, and very combatitive as well. I find it hard to believe that Microsoft became valued at $271 BILLION for selling crap.. even if you set aside all of the contract issues they tried to force down peoples throats. |

Just because they make money doesn't make their products good. Snake oil salesman used to make a lot of money back in the day too. Their products weren't any good either.
But I don't intend to debate how bad MS is for server performance, so I'll let this go. _________________ Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. |
