Come and join us for a paddling day trip to the beautiful Boundary Waters Canoe Area. This is not the official 3rd annual event normally held in Cannon Falls each year but a mere warm up to the season to help rid ourselves of six months worth of pent up cabin fever.

| If anyone is going to be paddling after the event, paddling will have to be limited to the first eight boats and first 18 people, creating two distinct groups. Apparently BWCA rules specify a limit of no more than 4 boats and 9 people per group. More groups are free to join so long as we do NOT cross paths or gather while in the wilderness. I have two distinct routes plotted out. If demand warrants, other routes can be planned. |

Could the second group do the caches in reverse order, Kelly-Jack then Dohlman? _________________ "Biddle, Biddle, Biddle, ,Biddle, Biddle..."

I believe a group in the BWCA can travel the same route, you just can't have more than 9 people (or 4 boats) together in any one place. Separating yourselves by an hour or two would probably be all you need.
In some ways it's a gray area - if you fish in the BWCA in for the opener you'll find that certain areas of certain lakes are very congested still.
As long as you're not all traveling together or meeting up for lunch or at a cache site I would think you'd be fine. _________________ Hmm... |

That was the intent but I agree with Pearhead, it's a gray area that I just didn't want to go on record as saying. We first need to fill the first group before doing the second or third. |

| This is event is now about 30 days out. Since it's greater than 250 miles from the Twin Cities, it will not show up in your Groundspeak Weekly Newsletter. If you plan on attending, please RSVP as soon as possible. |

| If you haven't already, looking for final RSVPs. We need to confirm the logistics with boating into the wilderness. |

This event renamed to...
Minnesota's BWCA Canoe-in Geocaching Event
It is also now rated accordingly. Should help for some of you doing the grid challenge. I just got another confirmed attendee so we're at 10 confirmed RSVPs that I am aware of. |
