PURPOSE: Manage and maintain mobile data equipment and infrastructure to ensure optimum performance, ease of use, security, and data integrity. Mobile data equipment includes, but is not limited to, cell phones, smart phones, laptops, mobile routers, wifi hardware, mobile VPN software (NetMotion, Radio IP, Cisco VPN), GPS systems, control servers for GPS and trunking radio systems and other equipment. Mobile data infrastructure includes but is not limited to WiFi, VPN tunnels, data radio connections, cellular data connections, and any other mobile data transmissions as supported by the City.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited two-year college with a degree in computer information systems or related, plus four (4) years of progressively responsible, verifiable work experience in systems development including at least two years of full-time experience in network design, implementation, and maintenance; OR five (5) years of full-time, verifiable experience in network design, implementation, and maintenance; OR a combination of verifiable education and experience equaling five years that is determined by Human Resources to be equivalent. Applicants with education and experience more directly related to that required for the job will be rated higher. Applicants with a greater level of related education and experience will be rated higher. Applicants who pass this phase will have their names added to the eligible list for this classification in order by score.
