|
|
On behalf of the geocoin committee and the board of directors, I am pleased to announce that the 2009 MnGCA Geocoin is now for sale.
These 2" x 1.7", 4mil-thick geocoins are trackable on geocaching.com and will have a custom icon associated to them. Photos are below.
There are five platings:
- a limited-edition antique copper coin. Only 60 of this coin will be made, and they are available only to those who became members of the MnGCA on or before 6/1/2009.
- antique gold
- shiny gold
- antique silver
- shiny silver
Until 9/1/2009, we will limit purchases to users of mngca.org, and we will limit purchases to one coin of each plating per buyer, to ensure that everyone here has an opportunity to buy a coin.
The cost is $15 per coin (any plating), but there is a discount for purchasing more than one coin at a time:
- 2 coins for $25
- 3 coins for $35
- 4 coins for $45
- 5 coins for $55
Please place your order using the ORDER FORM HERE. At the top of that page is a code to verify that you are logged in as an MnGCA user.
You can pay by cash, check, or Paypal. If you would like the coins to be shipped to you, add $2 plus $.50 for each additional coin. For Paypal orders, a service charge of 3% plus $.30 will be added.
Please email questions or concerns (but not orders) to treasurer@mngca.org. Also, please do not post orders to this thread.

My thanks to the entire committee on their work on this coin - it looks outstanding!
Hopefully this proves to be a good fundraiser for the organization (which I believe it will). If you're a member remember that you can view the ledger here to see just where some of the money from previous sales has gone. Remember that the organization doesn't charge dues to join or fees to use the site - the costs required to run the site, put on events, etc, mostly comes from fundraisers such as this.
Also thanks to firstbass for giving people the option of picking their coins up in person to save the shipping. Many of you may not realize at first what an additional burden this is on firstbass to keep track of all of this, so I applaud him for trying to save us all a little postage (even though my employer may think otherwise).
THANKS to everyone involved! _________________ Hmm... |

I agree, these look great. Mine came yesterday. I think the Shiny Gold is my favorite, with the Shiny Silver second.
They're thick, heavy coins as well. And with the pointy corners, if you get tired of them, you could always use them as deadly throwing stars. |

All 60 antique copper member coins have been ordered.
I have created a waiting list, in case any member coins are unclaimed after the fall event. As of now, there are five people on the waiting list.
There are several of the other four platings still available. Place your order HERE! |
