There are now more that 150 articles linked to the front page of the MnGCA going back several years.
I was thinking that it would be nice to have an index of the articles on a single page that linked to the articles so that you didn't have to scroll through 15 pages to see what is there.
There are some articles like the HTML 101 that are always going to be useful to newer folks but that if they don't know it is there why would the ever look for it.
Just a thought on how to increase the number of potential readers. _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

Good idea! How would you suggest ordering the index? Just alphabetical by article title, or further break it down? _________________ Hmm... |

I think this was kind of implemented, albeit not on the front page. I'm of the opinion that each article has a specific category-- like tech articles for example, that should pull up when you click on them.
Of course, you'll still have to navigate through pages of the more common articles like CoTM, and maybe eventually podcasts, but it'd be much easier to do than looking through all of them. _________________ The Lucid Network (tm)-- More Bars in More Places! |

Keep in mind that there is also a search function, although it's not really browse-able. _________________ Hmm... |

Searchability is fine. But you have to know that there is even something there.
My point is that there are 15 pages of articles off the front page. Some of them are Tech Articles some of the are not. But for most people they are not going to go and scroll through all 15 pages looking for something that they don't even know exists.
Maybe instead of just ordering the pages by date, the pages get categorized.
Some of the articles can probably just be deleted like the Breakfast Buddy notices after the event has occurred. If we want to keep a record of where they were held. Move the post to a thread for archive purposes. But we really don't really need to keep them in the articles after they occurred.
Categories
Tech Articles
COTM
General
Health & Safety
I really don't know because I'm not going to go through all 15 pages and try to categorize them. Give me the entire list and I'll see what I can do.
Then instead of the Tech Article Button, you just label it Articles with a drop down directing the viewer to each category _________________ Airborne All the Way! |
