New Ulm is a great area. Not sure how good the caching is. If you need gas or anything, stop at the local Kwik Trip store. I just did a bunch of remodel work there last summer.

I've been wanting to get to New Ulm, but it'll probably be sometime later in the year--last year's camping trip for Perrine and I took us to Winona, so we'll look at New Ulm this year. Besides, I have to make a pilgrimage to the Schell Brewery, where my favorite brew, as a former Bozemanite (go Cats!!!) is (or was) made--Spanish Peaks Black Dog Ale.

We're heading to Schell's for Arrow Bockfest, as well as New Ulm's Arrow Fasching Festival. With geocaching and a B&B in Sleepy Eye it should be a nice getaway.

Head a bit futher west to Redwood Falls for an afternoon. There are some great caches there. And the view near the Joesph R Brown Memorial cache is amazing, especially in the fall. Also, there are some in the park right in town that everyone seems to be having trouble locating. Maybe you could fare better?

Hey now your getting over in my area. Why not come a little further west? It would be nice to see some of those from the cities come out my direction.

Bump,
heading to Mankato and New Ulm, any recommendations for 2010? Any must do caches now, planning on hitting the Brewery and checking out the Glockenspiel. Any caches near the Glockenspiel seems there isn't but I may be missing it.

There was a cache by the brewery last fall. It would be literally BURIED with snow right now though. Can't remember what it's called right off hand.

Yeah, we are going to do the touristie thing between games and use geocaching as an excuse to get out and see the area.
We've been doing a few caches lately around here that are buried, in fact pondering buying a military foldup shovel to carry with.

I found most of them in the New Ulm aera last September. I would say deffinetly do the one by the brewery Make sure it is open when you go. take the tour.

Other than that there a few nice caches in town nothing special but the town its self is a nice town to take a walk in. lots of small shops and fun things to see. don't miss the clock and Herman.
