Wi-Fi now available at Red River State Recreation Area
(Released August 3, 2009)
Red River State Recreation Area visitors can now upload camping and fishing photos, check e-mail messages, and surf the Web while relaxing around a campfire in East Grand Forks, Minn.
The sending and receiving units became operational July 25 after work crews from Eagle Electric Co. installed the units onto two power poles near the ends of the center camping loop.
The service is being provided free at the present time. The Water and Light Department of the city of East Grand Forks funded the installation.

Now we can download pocket queries and log our finds while camping. Hopefully the rest of the parks follow suit. Many may disagree with me on this, but I really think that it is a nice option for those who need/want to stay connected. _________________ "Those librarians, that's one terrorist group you don't want to mess with." They did a wi-fi trial in Itasca (of all places) a year or two ago, but I never heard anything about it really other than some mention of it once. _________________ Hmm... |
