OK here's a cool link to a web site where you can enter the date and the locations and it will provide you with the sunrise and sunset time. This is a great tool for planning future days.

For your current location it does... What if you are planning a trip to South Dakota?

I use civil twilight (center of sun is 6 degrees below the horizon) for planning morning cache trips, rather than sunrise (top of sun is at the horizon).
That gives you about a 30 minute head start on beating Moe to an FTF .

My GPSMap 76 will show sun/moon rise/set for any waypoint or any spot I point to on the map. _________________ "Hi, I'm Moe, or as the women know me - Hey! You in the bushes."

I concur, my GPSr also give sunrise and sunset. However, what if you are planning a trip next weekend. Or next month. I don't think that your GPSr provides the data for a future date. The data that your GPSr is providing is part of the signal and the emfrs downloaded.
But then again, I only posted because it's a tool I have in my kit bag for use. Thought I would share. _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

Even with my unit being able to do this, it's still nice to have more than one option for doing tasks like this. I can use a screwdriver to take nails out of the wall in a pinch, but why bother when a hammer is in reach? _________________ Former weasel... |

http://wunderground.com/ does sunrise/sunset and moon as well, down to the minute for the location you specify, along with rather detailed weather information.
Kitch has a point, but it's good to know when to bring a flashlight. Oh, wait, I always bring my flashlight now these days. =)

Is that to dig the buried KB caches out of the snow?
