Agreed. There was no credit cards or cash. That's what I thought too, about the smash and dash. But why take the trouble to hide it under a log in the woods, all zipped up neatly? This is the most likely scenario I can come up with though.

My guess would be a smash and grab most likely on foot. Smash, grab, go hide in the woods grab what you need then "hide" the rest of the evidence.

While geocaching in Lester river park in Duluth.
I came upon some boxer undershorts and t-shirt stuck to a tree stump
by a butcher knife. I looked around to see if there was a body to go with it.

North of Grand Marais I came across a 1950s era Plymouth deep in the woods. It had a hemi engine in it. The real odd part was the large 7 foot dia.
boulder that was crushing it.

What's up with those caches on the North Shore Smile at Cow Pies this past spring, found a tin of Copenhagen and a 'rough rider' condom. previous cacher logged 'safety first'.
