Just for the record, Dakota County Park System does NOT have a geocaching policy. But they obviously do know the sport takes place within the park and they have watched listings in the past. They even mention geocaching in their 30 year plan here.
I am only mentioning this because the county LEO that contacted me tried to convince me that on Coughin Up A Lung I didn't have a permit and didn't follow "the policy". I do not know if he was B.S.ing me or if he really had no idea. I do know that the gentleman that contacted me was NOT a part of the parks system. I mentioned to him that I'd be shocked if even ONE permit could be produced for any of the 52 geocaches listed inside of Lebanon Hills Park. |

| To make it clear, I was merely posting that they have no policy. I obviously fall into the "no policy is good policy" camp and didn't mean to open a debate on what's already a dead horse around here. |

Maybe at that point they had no idea how to handle the problem and resorted to using phony scare tactics??? I haven't the foggiest idea what the intention was. Like I said, maybe he didn't really know... |

Coming from a guy that makes his living working with phones.
( yes you can Spoof caller ID )
That is one of the ways people are able to fool people into answering the phone.
They cand send out any number of digets and or names from there switch so it looks like what they want it to.
We have a problem with companeys useing our digets here at the hospital.
I also saw it at the casino every once in awhile.
but yes it is possible. _________________ ---------------------------------------------------

Ok Curt, I know it is possible. It was more rhetorical based on the likelihood that happening. |

=============================================
NEWS ALERT = NEWS ALERT = NEWS ALERT = NEWS ALERT = NEWS ALERT
=============================================
Dakota County Sheriff's Department and Parks Department submits this case to the county attourney to consider possible violations of the personal property provision in the park ordinances. Read between the lines... legal issues including misdemeanor (or worse) charges and fines. THIS IS YOUR PARK SERVICE.
There are 52 geocaches listed in Lebanon Hills Regional Park alone not including puzzle solutions. And that does not even consider the caches listed in Big Rivers Trail, Byllesby, Miesville, Dakota Woods, Spring Lake, Thompson, and the Dakota County Bikeway System.
STAY TUNED. |
